The BIA held its annual general meeting in the Dr Joseph Rizal Hall at the Filipino Centre on Parliament St. this month. It was a very well-equipped facility and the staff worked hard to ensure that the event went along smoothly.

 

The meeting went like clockwork with business and the 2010 budget (complete with a reduction in membership fees) were approved by the membership. Marsha and Lucy from justbecuz made a presentation about marketing and focusing the Cabbagetown Festival.

The highlight was a presentation by Cabbagetown’s own George Smitherman, a member of the BIA. The members appreciated the chance to wish him well on the long trail toward next year’s election.
