Letters to the Editor
Toronto needs two airports, including on the Island

Print this story

Thank you for a fine publication which we all enjoy in the Downtown core. Now I really have to disagree with the idea that Porter should belong to the already clogged Pearson airport.

My wife and I live Downtown on Lower Jarvis and I can assure you that the worst noise is produced by badly maintained motors, particularly from far too many trucks coming from most construction sites and the invasion of suburbia, too many alone in their cars, all producing a deafening noise and gallons of polluted air to fill our lungs.

That’s nothing to compare with Porter’s sound that we don’t even hear from our balcony facing the Market.

Definitely Porter belongs to the Island to give crowded Pearson a better chance to cope. Let’s face it, Toronto need two airports, and Porter on the Island is a perfect location to serve not only the business people from Bay street but all who care to be pampered better by a most civilized airline at the doorstep of so many of us who appreciate being served with a certain style.
